The Parmesan Job – Christmas at Clowes
“It’s a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team. And that means you do everything I say.” Charlie Croker, The Italian Job.
In a two-year spell, many companies have witnessed reduced capacities in the office environment, disparity of communication across teams and many employees continuing to working either remotely or with an element of flexibility which has been and remains necessary in keeping each other safe and well during these peculiar times.
Many employees have not seen their colleagues together in one place for a very long time. At Clowes Developments, this Christmas, we decided to do something a little different and host a staff day like no other. The Parmesan Job.
All participants were asked to complete two negative LFTs in the days leading up to the event in an attempt to provide some level of reassurance for those taking part that we were indeed all COVID free.
On Friday 10th December, 32 members of the Clowes team embarked on a 4-hour challenge which led teams of 4 across Derbyshire in 8 separate Mini’s.
Each team were tasked with scoring as many points as possible by reaching the check points and answering the questions correctly. Additional points could be achieved by completing additional photo and scavenging specific items, of course all of these challenges are directly linked to ‘The Italian Job’. The rules were clear, do not break the law and do not pay for anything.
Once all the teams returned to HQ, and the scores were tallied, the winners announced, and everyone went outside to watch the winning team ‘blow the bladdy doors off’ with smoking pyrotechnics they cracked the safe code and retrieved the gold.
To round off a brilliant day, our MD, Ian Dickinson raised a glass to congratulate and thank the team for their outstanding contribution over the year, wishing them all a very merry Christmas.
Mission complete and a great day was had by all.
