Our Story.

When Charles W. Clowes founded the CWC Group on 17 September 1964, he established four guiding principles that remain at the heart of the business today: honesty, integrity, passion and innovation.

Those values continue to shape the company’s culture and decision-making more than 60 years later. Over the following five decades, Charles built a substantial property and development portfolio spanning industrial, office, retail and residential schemes across more than 120 sites.

A successful entrepreneur with a passion for cars, motor racing and flying, Charles became one of Derbyshire’s most respected businessmen. Following his passing in 2015, his sons David Clowes, Chairman, and Thomas Clowes, Managing Director, continued his legacy and remain at the helm of the Group today.

We’ve achieved our success with a small yet dedicated and fully integrated team, whose strength lies in their desire to live and breathe each and every project.

This approach has also allowed us to retain an uncluttered hierarchy and streamlined structure geared towards agility, flexibility and speed of response.

All of this means that when opportunity knocks, we’re ready to respond, quickly and decisively.
