Clowes charitable donations this Christmas

In a year that has been totally bizarre for all, Clowes Developments have chosen to donate their Christmas party budget to local charities supporting those who deserve a treat this year.

Clowes Developments employees know how to party (and boy do they love a good party) but this year, things are a little different. Instead of blowing the budget on vouchers or gifts for staff, leaders at Clowes have decided to donate the money to two very worthy causes.

For over 125 years, Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre has provided children across the county with a week-long holiday at their specialist residential centre on the seafront in Skegness. Every penny donated goes directly towards helping the most disadvantaged children in our society. They provide disadvantaged youngsters with a break they might never receive, helping with their education and self-esteem; making friends and memories that last a lifetime.

Our Scotland based colleagues have chosen to support Radio Forth’s Mission Christmas – Cash for Kids campaign ensuring that local children living in poverty receive a gift this Christmas. A £50 donation (the average price per head for a Christmas party meal) will cover the costs for one child to wake up to special gifts this Christmas morning.

Sarah Purvey, HR Manager, Clowes Developments comments;

We are delighted to be able to support two very worthy causes this Christmas.

The group have previously supported DCHC, our former Chairman and founder, Charles Clowes, felt that the charity provided important life experiences and opportunities for disadvantaged children and was always keen to support them in the Groups’ earlier years. Cash for Kids is a welcomed addition to the Group’s beneficiaries this year. Clowes Developments wish everyone ‘A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!’.

Clowes team members added;

We support the decision to help those who really need it this year.

We hope to continue working hard but party harder in 2021!
