Clowes granted further planning permission at Castlewood Court

Clowes Developments obtain further planning permission to expand their class leading Castlewood Business Park at Sutton in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire.

Derbyshire based developers, Clowes Developments, have been granted planning consent by Bolsover District Council for two additional industrial units to be constructed at Castlewood Court.

Earlier this month the group announced planning consent for a new 24,842 sq ft unit which has already been pre-let to CST Industries. Today’s announcement will see a further two units at 31,396 sq ft and 12,484 sq ft added to the masterplan. The construction of all three units will see Plot 11 also known as Castlewood Court built out in its entirety. Current occupiers at the wider Castlewood Business Park include Alloga, Bombardier, Co-Op, Middle Brook Transport and Parker Knoll.

Castlewood Business Park is located at the very heart of the country, next to junction 28 of the M1 motorway and provides excellent access to the whole of the UK. It is adjacent to East Midlands Designer Outlet Village and is less than ten miles from Mansfield.

Hannah Bailey, Senior Surveyor at Clowes Developments, explains:

After having built out Castlewood Business Park over the last 10 years, We recognise that the market has been desperately lacking in high quality smaller scale industrial units in the area and therefore we are embracing this opportunity  to build speculative units to meet this demand.

James Richards, Development Director at Clowes Developments, said:

As the Castlewood Business Park success story continues, we are very happy to have been able to work with Bolsover District Council to secure planning permission for the additional units to complete the plot.

We firmly believe demand for best in class distribution, manufacturing, and logistical units in a location such as this will remain buoyant. When the economy bounces back, we want to ensure we have the right units available, in the right location to help local, national and international businesses grow and contribute by providing local employment.

Clowes holds over 3,000 acres of land and 15,000 residential plots in 130 development sites across the country, as well as more than 50 office and business parks and several larger mixed-use sites such as Fairham located on the southern edge of Nottingham.

Our core purpose as a company is around bringing opportunity to life, be that through a small single site or a large thousand-acre urban extension capable of delivering thousands of new homes and business premises. Guided by over half a century of successful entrepreneurship, we know exactly when and how to tease out the maximum value from an investment whilst boosting the local area. James Richards added.
