Clowes welcomes CST Industries to Castlewood Business Park

Clowes Developments is proud to welcome the latest occupier to its Castlewood Business Park in Nottinghamshire.

CST Industries has agreed to take a bespoke new production and office unit of just under 25,000 sq ft at the class-leading business location adjacent to Junction 28 of the M1.

The new unit is now under construction and should be handed over to CST towards the end of this year.

CST Industries is the global leader in storage tanks and covers and its relocation to Castlewood Business Park from its current site in Alfreton is recognition of the location and facilities available at Castlewood.

The move will underline CST’s position in the UK marketplace and support local jobs.

Clowes’ ability to successfully negotiate and close deals during an economically difficult time is also significant.

James Richards, development director with Clowes Developments, said:

This is a major new deal that brings a world-leading operator in its market to Castlewood. This is just one of a series of next generation units we are bringing to the business park and look forward to working with CST Industries both now and in the future. We firmly believe that demand for best in class distribution, logistics, production and manufacturing units in the best locations will remain buoyant during the current year and into 2021. When the economy bounces back, we want to ensure we have the right units available to fulfil the needs of companies like CST Industries and other blue chip businesses looking for the very best locations.”

Rachael Hallam from CST Industries, said: “This facility gives us a new, more energy efficient building and will also give us an excellent opportunity to streamline our processes.”

Heather Dixon, partner at law firm Geldards, added: “Coming at a time when we are all having to cope with unique, worrying and difficult circumstances, this is a magnificent ‘win’ for all parties involved. With the help of Clowes Developments’ professional team, and many more behind the scenes, it has been a tonic to be able to focus on concluding this deal.”

A further new 41,000 sq ft manufacturing unit is currently under construction at Castlewood and is set to open in 2021 as well as up to four other new units. All will be built to the latest high specifications including BREEAM Good and EPC Class A standards.

The business park is situated in the very heart of the country next to junction 28 of the M1 motorway providing excellent access to the whole of the UK. Current occupiers include Co-Op, Bombardier and Parker Knoll.

Agent Tim Gilbertson of FHP adds: “It is always impressive to conclude a deal at any time, but given the current economic circumstances, the continued growth and development of Castlewood is remarkable with a number of further new units planned.”
