‘Bringing opportunity to life’ as Clowes Developments welcome new recruit

One of the UK’s largest privately owned property groups, Clowes Developments has appointed Kate Henderson as its new Marketing Manager with immediate effect.

Kate joins Clowes Developments from Else Solicitors where she was Head of Marketing. Kate spent her earlier career at Geldards Law firm and has built up several years’ experience in professional services marketing with expertise in establishing in-house marketing functions.

The appointment coincides with the Derbyshire-based company’s recent rebrand and name change from CWC Group to Clowes Developments. The evolution of the brand underlines the company’s historic roots and widespread recognition as a ‘Clowes’ business. The new name and look reflect the position of the business as a national development, asset management and land acquisition and promotion company.

The newly formed position comes as the Derbyshire-based company published record-breaking financial results for the last financial year (2018-19) in which turnover climbed to £116 million and profit surpassed £39 million.

Chairman of Clowes Developments, David Clowes said:

Founded by Charles Clowes in 1964, Clowes Developments has flourished over the years to become one of the largest privately owned property companies in the UK.

Our visionary leadership team acknowledge that with growth and stability comes opportunity. We identified that an in-house marketing professional would be an essential asset to our ever-evolving business. Kate will play a vital role in elevating the groups profile and communicating our vast project portfolio and success for years to come.

At a time when many businesses are having to reduce their workforce, Clowes are defying the trend and are looking to progress full steam ahead with their plans for 2020. Despite the necessary changes to working practices under lockdown, the group has developed agile working solutions to ensure a safe and efficient working environment so that business can continue to prosper.

Clowes Developments is one of the UK’s largest privately owned property groups. It has continued to deliver several standout developments over the past year, including the new £800 million mixed use Fairham site south of Nottingham, and has a healthy pipeline of sites and projects for the next 10-15 years.

Clowes holds over 3,000 acres of land and 15,000 residential plots in 130 development sites across the country, as well as more than 50 office and business parks including Castlewood Business Park located next to junction 28 of the M1 motorway and a number of larger mixed use sites such as Fairham.

Newly appointed Marketing Manager, Kate commented:

Without doubt, it’s an exciting time to be joining Clowes Developments. I’m looking forward to supporting the leadership team in delivering their vision and aspirations for the group as they continue to go from strength to strength.
