Richard Tavernor

Richard joined the Clowes team at the start of January 2021 as Head of Finance and was promoted to Finance Director in March 2022.

Some of Richard’s professional highlights include working for 13 years at British Midland in the finance department and 18 years at Pattonair (supply chain management, aerospace) where he qualified as a management accountant and more recently became a fellow member of CIMA. Additionally, Richard has run his own consultancy business and is a director for his family owned property investment company. Richard’s ambitions during his tenure at Clowes are to build a solid and motivated team, develop processes, systems and reports, actively support the management team and manage cash-flow for the Group.

When asked what motivates Richard he replied,
1. Making a difference – supporting my team and the rest of the business
2. Seeing/helping other people do well and developing in their roles
3. Process efficiency and delivering an excellent service

Richard lives locally with his wife of 20 years and has 3 children and a rescue dog.

When Richard isn’t at work he can be found playing tennis for Ashbourne and competing in the Derby Area League where he captains one of the men’s teams. He also enjoys watching his sons play Rugby and supports Leicester Tigers.
