Plans in for Retail Phase at Viking Park

The application comes following the successful outline approval of the wider scheme in February 2022 and subsequent detailed approvals for new housing, employment space and enabling works all of which will enhance this growing new community.

The proposed new local retail centre will be anchored by a new Aldi foodstore together with a Drive Through Starbucks and a further retail unit, which will be built on a speculative basis by Clowes.

On completion the retail facilities will be complemented by 175 new homes to be built by housebuilder Bloor and in excess of 200,000 sq ft of employment space, which, together with the retail element, will provide an array of full and part time job opportunities.

Viking Park forms part of the Congleton Business Park Expansion scheme outlined in the Cheshire East Local Plan Strategy and lies to the west of Viking Way.  The new link road from the M6 motorway provides connectivity and has opened up opportunities for the town.
